Lightsabers are kids all time favorite. With minimal supplies, you can make one at home.
Material Required
- Finger lights- You can buy one or make your own as shown in the video
- Straws
- Tape
- Scissors
- Hot glue
Directions
In case of a store bought finger light, it contains a small cap. Begin the process by carefully removing it. Skip this step if you are using a diy finger light.
Next, take a straw that matches the color of your finger light. This is an important detail, as the color coordination will enhance the overall aesthetic of your lightsaber. If you are using a plain white light, then any color straw will work. Using scissors, trim the straw to a length of approximately 4 inches. This length is ideal for creating a comfortable grip while still allowing the light to shine through effectively.
After cutting the straw to the desired length, attach it to the LED light. For added security, help your child to add hot glue to reinforce the connection between the straw and the LED light. A small amount of glue can help keep everything in place, preventing any accidental disconnections during use.
Once the straw is securely attached, it’s time to wrap a tape around the light and the base of the straw. Choose a tape that complements your design, whether it’s clear tape for a discreet look or colored tape for a more vibrant appearance. The tape will provide additional stability and ensure that the components remain connected during play.
